Hello. I posted last week about an NG tube being left in my old stomach during surgery by mistake and now I have to have it remove. I wanted to get a second opinion and the only other Bariatric surgeon I know anything about is Dr. Champion and so I called his office today and was told that he will only meet with me if my surgeon calls him which I do not want. Does anyone else have a Bariatric surgeon that they are happy with? I live and work in the Chamblee/Dunwoody area. I appreciate your help. Take Care, Bonnie

Hi Bonnie, I was very happy with my surgeon, Dr. John Daly. And he is located at Northside Hospital Doctors Bldg. I had my surgery at Emory-Dunwoody. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I will say, however, that almost any surgeon in Atlanta, out of respect for all the other surgeons, especially in a case of malpractice (which this probably is) would want to see you in 'consult' with your own surgeon. Call Dr. Daly's office, ask to speak with Tammy.... she could tell you anything and everything you could possibly want to know, and whether he would see you without your surgeon knowing about it. Tammy is absolutely wonderful, and will help all she can. Susan

This was just a thought and I could be way off, but maybe a patients advocate group would have the number of one that has handled this type of issue. The American Society for Bariatric Surgery in Gainsville, FL may have some help for you. I wish you the best. You are in my prayers.

Bonnie, To Muan's thought, there should be a patient advocate group at the hospital where your surgery was performed. Believe it or not, this is usually a good place to start. On the other hand, I had Dr. Macik and loved him. His office manager Karen would be able to tell you what he might be able to do for you. The number is 404-252-2220. Good Luck. Brenda

OMG..guess I should have checked your profile before I responded. I will be interested to know how you resolve your situation. I may just ask him about it myself. Are you getting the second opinion because he refuse's to correct the situation or because you don't trust what he is going to do or you want another surgeon to remove it or ???? This is not funny, but the last words to him before i went out was..remember I am getting a Lap Band and not an RNY and don't leave anything other than the band behind. You hear all of the horror stories, but I have never met anyone who actually had it happen. Keep me posted. If I can get some more of the details maybe I can ask some of my own questions. Brenda
