I AM APPROVED!!!!

GOD is good all of the time!!!!! I called BCBS today and found out that I was approved and my letter was mailed out yesterday to my surgeon and my PCP! My paperwork was just faxed to them on 6/29/05. What a speedy approval.... I am so excited... can't you hear it in my voice!! To everyone who is waiting on your approval, just keep the faith. Now I need to know what to do next?? Please let me know.

Karen, Thank you so much. I am telling myself that the hardest part is over...getting the approval.. Now it is all downhilll. Now it is time to do my part. I want this so bad that GOD heard my prayer and approved it in one day because my window is from 6/29/05 to 9/27/05. Thank you again and please slide over.. I need a seat on the "loser" bench.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Congratulations, Phyllis!!! I would call the surgeon's office to touch base about what you will need before the surgery. My surgeon required another PCP surgery clearance with H-Pylore (sp.?) test and a cardiology clearance (because I'm over 40). Oh yeah, as soon as the surgeon's office receives your approval, you should get your date! I'm happy for you, and thanks for encouraging those who are waiting! Hugs, Becky

Thanks Becky.. I am over 40 as well and I have been to the cardiologist. The H-ploric.. I am not sure about. I will contact my surgeon's office tomorrow and hopefully I will get my date. Will shout it to the world when I get it. (((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) back to you.

Vicki, Hi. It's not that BCBC has stopped covering WLS... it's just that my employer paid extra to get it for the employees. BCBS is not the culprit.. it's whether your company that you work for is going to pay extra for you guys to have it... Call your HR department or call BCBS directly and see if your company has paid for it..then you will know if you are covered for the surgery before you start the long procedure of going through the approval process.
