Well today I wa**** in the face again. I was told by my employer that they now have an exclusion for wls. I had researched this insurance company for awhile. I spoke to everyone(from the top person in h.r to just about everyone in Humana) Just last week I officially sighned the papers for open enrolment. The humana rep told which plan to take, now it's an exclusion. Yes I'm hurt but i know that IF IT IS FOR ME GOD WILL LET IT BE I decided to use this website as a tool for my wl I decided if I cant do it phsically I will do it mentally. Atleast for now. I am so tired of being fat, and feeling out of place. I got to do something to keep sane. Right now I work retail/security(long story) I have a law enforcement background in corrections. I live in the metro atlanta area. If anyone knows of a job that is hiring where the employer does not exclude wls please keep me posted. Or maybe there is a individual policy I can purchase that covers it. So in the meantime I'm back to the yo-yo diet. God bless you all, please keep me in your prayers.

My heart goes out to you, Big Sassy. Three days before my surgery I found out that wls was now excluded on our policy, after the company kept assuring me it was covered. I went out and joined a gym the very next day and am still working out. I have since taken out two policies and am waiting to see what I have to do over again. At first I thought it was God's way of saying "no" to surgery, but I remembered how many times I've had to keep on trying to accomplish a goal. You might want to approach an independent insurance agent and tell him frankly what kind of coverage you are looking for. That's what I did. It has taken a while, but I now have the right coverage, as far as I know. Please don't give up.

My heart hurts for you! Sometimes, God's answer is not "no," but is "not now." Don't you wish we could see His plan? While we go through the waiting, it does build us. When I am at my lowest, I am drawn to Him. You are in my prayers. "You will keep her in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because she trusts in You." Lord, please give this lady Your perfect peace. We don't understand the cir****tances, but we know You will use them for good. May she be richly blessed in this time of uncertainty. Love, Becky

I got the "not now" about 4 years ago when I first considered weight loss surgery. I was told I would have to pay $20,000 out of pocket and my insurance would not cover it. I had my surgery three weeks ago and am doing well. This time my insurance covered it. (I was forced to change when my employer dropped my previous insurance.) I do not believe I was mentally prepared for the surgery before and the extra time was God's way of preparing me. I really do feel it is my "last chance" to permanently lose weight and I'm finally ready to give up gorging on my favorite foods to accompli**** Do you already have a surgeon? You can ask the office staff the top employers that have insurance that cover. (I heard that state of GA employees get no WLS coverage.) Also, go to support group meetings and ask people there where they work. You're in my prayers too!
