Has anyone taken the medication Reglan and had any problems with it?

I am just curious if anyone has ever taken Reglan and experienced any negative side effects from this drug. It is given sometimes to aid in digestion and to promote bowl activity after WLS. Please let me know. Thanks, LMW

Of course, I meant bowel activity!!!!

I was given Reglan by two different doctors for problems with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It was supposed to calm the crampy feeling, but nothing but Donnetal seemed to work. As far as i remember, there were no noticiable side effects for me.

I usually am given Reglan for a day or two when I've had surgery and it didn't brother me, but several years ago I was having lots of stomach problems and the dr. gave it to me. After a few weeks I got so depressed !! I just felt like the world was coming to an end. I asked about this at the drug store and they said Reglan could cause this, so I stopped taking it and got better . I guess it affects everybody differently. Good luck, Judy

I had the exact same reaction except I had lots of anxiety with it also. I was on it for almost 3 weeks around the clock also. I looked up the side effects and it can cause both depression and anxiety. I am glad to hear another person testify to this. Thanks for your response. Sincerely, LMW
