Picked up my dress tonight...

Phyllis (my Maid of Honor) and I went for our final fitting and picked up our dresses tonight. I tried it on and about cried. I can't believe how much my life has changed in the last few years. All I can say is...God does answer prayers and dreams do come true!! Just two years ago I felt hopeless. I was fat and single and resigned myself to the fact that I would probably grow old alone and fat. Then the Lord whispered in my ear to have faith that a new day would come. I had WLS and the Lord sent James into my life. In 9 days, we will be married in front of God, family and friends. I feel like so blessed! Just wanted to share... Hugs, Tonya

Also, today is the one year anniversary of my beloved G-ma's death. On her death bed she told me to go forward, have WLS and don't look back. I know that she is looking down on me today smiling from ear to ear!

Awwwwwwwwww....how wunnerful!! I am very happy for the 2 of you, and I pray that your marriage is a blessed one and will last forever..... You are very beautiful, and James is such a hottie!!! (Hey!! Any babies?? ooohhh..slap me! LOL!) I can relate....now, I don't know about getting married, (who knows.. I USED to say NEVER EVER...now I say..."I don't know") but one year ago (almost to the day...7-13..I know you are 7-14) I was at 340 pounds, miserable and quite sure I was going to die within 5 yrs... NOW... I'm at 188, I feel confident I will see both my boys grduate from the schools they attend ( I wasn't so sure then), I have a WONDERFUL man in my life, and I am happier than I have been in sooooo many years. Praise god for this surgery and the oportunities it allows us. As long as folks remember, it's not so they can LOOK good, it's so you can FEEL good again! I can't wait to see a pic of you in that dress, you know, I am a little bit jealous. I got married 9 years ago, and it was wonderful except for one thing. I never got to wear the dress of my dreams, and feel beautiful, I got the dress that would fit, and hide the most. Is it silly to want a do over? Well, enough about me, you enjoy your day, you both deserve it so much! Cathy
