Does anyone know a good doc specializing in after-care for WLS patients?
I am curious if anyone knows anyone in the Kennesaw-Acworth-Cartersville-Rome area who specializes in therapy for after-care post op for WLS patients? I have one name, but am interested if anyone has had any positive experiences with any other physcians in the area. I am referring to mental issues--help dealing with stress, anxiety etc. linked to this drastic change in life style after WLS. Also, my insurance does not cover these services, so it would need to be someone reasonable in this area of finances? It never hurts to ask. Thank you for your help. Our church has a family help, but not specializing in the WLS area. Let me know if anyone knows a good doctor in this area. Thanks!
I went to DR Whaylen (SP) at Harbin Clinic's Behavior Services here in Rome for my pre op testing and consultation. I only spent about an hour with him but he was very pleasant, personable and offered me to call him post op if I need to. I will if anything arises. I would suggest checking with him. He;s new to the Rome area as of May (I believe)
I grabbed his card from my wallet and he is William R. (Randy) Warley (had thought it was Whaylen, but that was a different DR I had to go see), he introduced himself as Randy, and is Ph.D. He is the one doctor Scott's office sent me to, even though DR Scott isn't doing my repair/revision surgery. He has a link on DR Scott's web sight as well. The off ice is on East Fifth Street but basically overlooks Broad Street. Right behind Wachovia on the hill. It is a green parking deck that it sits beside. As I mentioned he was real personable and great to talk to but I only saw him for my PAI test and pre op eval. They are part of the Harbin Clinic but not located at the main clinic campus out on Martha Berry. Email me and I can email you back the number or you can always call the main Harbin number and be transferred. He is in with DR Frank Harbin, DR Randell Elkins both Ph.D. and Kimberly Adams, who she I assume is a psychologist (she lists as Psy.D on the card). Hope this helps.
