Hi all. I was told on another board to come here and look for someone named Michelle. I posted about the effect of WLS on people with auto-immune diseases. I have sarcoidosis and was wondering if she had an information for me. Thanks!

Hi Beth Ann! I have Multiple Sclerosis. I've been diagnosed for about 8 years--have had it longer than that. I take a weekly injection of avonex as my treatment. I had WLS the end of April. I've done great! I've had no flare ups at all--even though I had a serious complication with my surgery--which normally would have given my MS fits. I can't explain why it didn't--just thankful for that particular blessing. I don't know anything about sarcoidosis--but I'll happily answer any questions you might have about my surgery and MS! Hugs! Michelle Ps....before my surgery, I did consult my neurologist about the benefits/risks of WLS on MS. I also spent a great amount of time with my primary care dr. on this same topic. I do highly suggest seeing whatever specialist you see for a professional opinion!
