just need to vent
Was approved last month. In the beginning I was told I had to lose 40lbs. and that was ok I knew I would have to lose some. I had been doing ok, you know its hard at time ok ay others. Any how, when I went in for a date I was told i had to lose an additional 40lbs. I wrote a couple of weeks, that I was haveing a hard time. Went to the doctor Monday to weight in and was told someone had wrote I gained weight and that was why I was told I had to lose more...
Well in the end I guess things worked out, I now have 12lbs to go and they will move my date up.

Dear Deborah,
Congrats on losing BEFORE surgery!
I hope they explained to you that the more you can shrink the size of your liver, the safer your operation will be for you; that's generally what's behind the requirement to lose weight before surgery can be scheduled.
So, as frustrating as it can feel at times, just imagine your liver melting all the stored up fat out of its system, shrinking in size so that your surgeon can navigate underneath it to perform his wondrous surgery!
Keep us posted!
Lovingly,
Lauralyn
