::::BREATHE:::: GREAT NEWS! UPDATE!
Good Morning,
The Nutritionist had a cancellation yesterday morning so I was able to negotiate the last hurdle to have my Criteria completed for my package to be faxed to BCBS done. She even had the report finished for me and faxed to my home by 2PM yesterday afternoon. I hadn't even finished printing it off when I loaded the fax up to forward to Emory. My husband happened to be home so he called down there and the nurse said she would fax it out yesterday.
Well, They actually did! And from what BCBS told us to do, being as my health is getting worse every day and marked it URGENT/STAT so we can expedite the process. I was trying to wait until at least 9AM to call anyone this morning but gave in at 8AM and called BCBS Prior Approval Department. It started with a GREAT sign when the RN that answered name is Shawna. My best friend of 24 years name is Shawna so I had a fleeting 'This is AWESOME' feeling. She has confirmed that in deed they received it with the URGENT/STAT overnight (I guess the fax turns into a file on their computers) and that as of 8AM has all ready been printed out and is on the desk of one of the other RN's for review. She said call back at 10AM, I did but no change in the status. And actually Shawna answered the second time I called. SHe told me try back about 1PM this afternoon so I'm trying to keep busy waiting (but not having much luck!) She told me that she's about 90% sure they will have the response some time today! Yesterday I spoke with my husband's company's liaison for BCBS and she said when I get my verbal approval to have fax either me or her the approval notice and then she will fax it to Emory. They wont give me a surgery date before a paper approval notice.
Tomorrow morning at 8:30AM I am scheduled for my stress echo so as soon as I do that I am ready to go in!!! Well, I should say that the only thing of the 7 things on the list I am not 100% sure of is that they list only a generic heading of 'bloodwork' needed for pre op but I've had so much blood drawn in the last week I'm fairly sure we wont need that done and can use the results we have filed. If we do need something drawn both my PCP and GI Drs office are on stand by for me to get in on a moments notice.

it is so good to hear from you again and with such great news!!! See prayer does work. Let us know as soon as you find out about the approval and you had better stay on them about the paper approval because i actually had my surgery without one because they didnt get it to them before my pre-op and so they scheduled me anyway, but that is a different dr too. I am so happy for you because you have been on my mind alot lately with your situation. I will continue to pray for you and keep you in my thoughts.
