BCBS OF GEORGIA IS A BUNCH OF BULL

THEY SAID I CAN NOT FILLED AN APPEAL BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DENIAL ME THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY PLAN ANYMORE AS OF 5-1-05

Just wanted to let you know I called BCBS this morning and they "Towanna" told me that the reason one BCBS may cover gastric and not the other, whether it be HMO, PPO, or POS, has to do with your employer deciding not to cover it or not, she said it has nothing to do with them just cancelling the coverage. Just thought I'd let you know. Although I do think if your employer covered it a few months or so ago that they should have sent you and all other employees a letter lettting you know. Melissa

Katrina - Melissa is right. When I called BCBSGA last fall I was told that WLS would not be covered as of 1-1-05, so I really RUSHED through all the pre-op testing to see if I could get it in before the new year. Then our HR department told me that they had specifically negotiated with BCBS to keep coverage for WLS into 2005. So you may not be getting accurate info from Blue Cross. I'd suggest either calling them again and speaking with a supervisor about your particular policy, or calling your HR/Benefits department to check with them about it. Good luck. Cheryl
