Yikes!!!!
Hey ya'll
It's been a while since I posted, but I can't really complain.....I'm down 60lbs since my surgery in Feb. and feel like a new person! I am however experiencing hair loss (Yikesssss). Will this stop anytime soon? This has been going on for a good 6 wks now. I'm wondering if I should cut my hair short, or if I should keep my length (if the hair loss will stop soon) Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions??
Hey Kelly...it WILL stop, after what SEEMS like FOREVER!!!
Mine has been growing back in for a few months now, and the new hair has a life of it's own! LOL!
I went to my hairdresser (of many years) and had told him to cut it AND to dye it blonder (to hide the balding spot on the top of my head) and he started looking over my head, and started finding little bitty brand new shoots of hair...and he would pull on them each and go..nope! Nope! NOPE! "We are NOT cutting your hair, cuz it is ALL coming back in!"
Patience young grasshopper! LOL!! If you LIKE your hair short, then go for it, but if you prefer your long hair, hang in there...it DOES stop and it DOES come back. I still have my long hair...
GOOD LUCK girl!!!
Tami
Let me tell ya - I DID cut my hair short - but I can get away with wearing it this way.....but I'll be GREATFUL when it grows back in. My hairdresser had the surgery and she REFUSED to cut her hair.......but really said she should have.
I agree with Tami that it's up to the individual.
Make sure you're getting in your protein and taking your vitamins regualrly. This will help slow some of the loss - but it will not prevent it from happening. This hair loss happens for several reasons after this surgery......sudden rapid weight loss, malnurishments and anesthesia all have things to do with it!
It will stop falling out - and it will grow back in.
much
