Bad news from Dr.
OK so I went to the Dr today because I've been lightheaded. I figured my iron was low, but he doesnt htink it is.
Then I told him I've been bruising easy, and that I have these red dots all over my body.
The red dots are called purpura, or petechiae
He almost freaked out on me, and gave me a full check over.
he's doing blood tests to rule out luekemia.
Apparently petechiae is a sign of it, and so is the bruising.
So, I'm officially freaked out.
he is also checking my nutrients, and if my platelet count comes back abnormal, he will send me to a Dr to do a bone marrow examination.
He absolutely does NOT want me to have surgery for the gall bladder until we find out what's wrong.
please think of me
Dear Kay,
I hold you in my heart and prayers.
I am sorry you are facing this challenge.
Remind yourself to breathe deeply; that God is as close to you as your next breath; find a word that soothes your soul and think it (or say it softly) as you exhale.
You are facing uncertainty and that IS a scary place to be; so just be gentle with yourself. Allow others to love on you. Give yourself permission to set aside thinking about your medical symptoms & experiences for periods of time to take a walk, a drive someplace pretty, be with a loved one, read a magazine.
Lovingly,
Lauralyn

Kay,
I pray that it's nothing serious. I do want to tell you though, one of my WLS friends was brusing real bad and it turns out it was caused by low B-12, although her B-12 was showing in the normal range, it was on the low side of normal. She started weekly B-12 shots for a month and the brusing is gone. I pray that you fair as well as she has.
HUgs,
Tonya
