Good morning everyone! I have spent weeks reading profiles and i must say i am a tad confused. I am going to Dr. Duncan's seminar on the 21st. Is it ok to print and fill out the forms on their site and turn them in that night? Also can i go outside Dr. Duncan and get these required test done or do i need to wait til after the first consult with him? Guess you all can tell i was ready yesterday to do this right? Any help would be appreiciated . I tend to jump the gun but want to get a head start if possible. One more thing sent the staff here an email request about sprucing my profile up does that tend to take a while sent in two or three weeks ago? Thanks Hope everyone has an awesome day, sandy

Hey Sandy, your post made me smile... you DO sound like you were ready yesterday. I can't help you with Duncan and his staff, although I have read that some people did get the forms before their first appointment and they were able to hand theirs in the same day instead of taking them home and mailing back which DOES cause delays. About the OH staff... I emailed my picture to them to put on my posts and my profile and it did take a few weeks for them to get to it. I imagine they are very busy. I wonder what it takes to become a volunteer and how much computer know how you need to know to learn how to do it... seems like our GA board needs its own volunteer! Its beautiful in Macon today! A glorious morning! Hope your day is awesome back! Barb

YES TO ALL OF THE ABOVE! You can go ahead and print out the paperwork and turn it in at the seminar. That will give you alittle head start. The Tests can be done by your PCP or whoever you want. I already had everything done when I went to my first consult and the Paperwork was already in even before the seminar. Because of that I was able to go to the seminar on January 18th 2005 and my fist consult was scheduled for the 19th. Print and Fill out the Paperwork today and go ahead and mail it in if you want to but KEEP COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU SEND THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are ALWAYS loosing stuff. Torre.

Ok, you say that the test can be done before the consult and by your pcp or who ever you want, but how do you know what test you need to have done other than the psyc eval, and dietician visit???? ~Melissa~

thanks everyone who posted here. i am on my way slowly dr suss said he would write me up a referral letter and did some of the standard bloodwork already but was concerned about the pullmonary and cardiovascular clearance sine i wasnt sure if my dr could do it or do i need a specialist. Gonna set up a nutrionalist appt and a psych evaluation for the first week in july if possible. i hope i don't miss anything. the only other question i have is does dr duncan require us to have a 6 month history of continual weight loss with a dr. have a 15 year history of what i have done but my dr said nothing prescription wise would help so approved of what i was trying is that ok or will he need to document me trying for six months? sorry so many questions just trying to cover all bases and have my ducks in a row. now i see why they give u a psych eval during this time to see if u go nuts trying to get it all done lol. again thanks for the help. sandy
