First Anniversary (long)

Hey, Y'all! Well, today was my one year mark. I've lost 90 pounds and weigh 162. I haven't weighed that in over ten years, so I'm pretty happy. I really hope to lose at least ten more pounds, three more will put me at a normal BMI. (What's normal???) At least, I used the anniversary for leverage to get my DH to help with the photos, so they are finally posted. The computer was down for two hours, so I thought the camera jinx might be continuing. Truly, it's because my particular computer is ancient. My picture trail link is on my profile page. I want you all to know that I love you very much. I used to be addicted to the Yahoo site for National Board's Certification (teacher stuff), but I rarely posted because there were some pretty snippy folks there. This group of people is awesome!!! I know the Lord led me here, so you all are blessings in my life. I appreciate the support that I have received every step of the way. There have been times when I have doubted my choice for WLS...that's my nature. I come here, and always feel hopeful and blessed to have had this opportunity! You all are the best!!! Dearest Becky, Congrats on your 1st year of weight loss achievement! I just checked out your before & after photos and WOW! what a healthy difference! I saw you were having a consult the end of May to find out why you were having stomach pains & I must've missed the post that told us how it went. How're you doing nowadays? You can continue to lose excess weight if you want to. I am. I don't care that, in year 3, it's at the rate of 1lb. every 6-8 weeks, it's from the exercise & weight training regimen I'm on & I love how I feel as I get stronger & healthier! HI, Lauralyn, Thank you!!! It is very encouraging to know that I may continue to lose. We THINK the stomach pains may have had something to do with end of year stress (sadness!), carbonated drinks, and chewing an abundance of bubble gum. The upper GI series came back normal. Yay!!! I truly think it was the gum. I chewed about 70 pieces over a two day period...but I never swallowed it. The pain is now gone! You're a sweetie for asking! Hugs, Becky

Hey, Girlfriend!!! Thank you!!! You know I think you are in all of the pictures because of your natural flash appeal. I took many other photos of good people mind you, but they turned out too dark to see. I also know that you are the OFFICIAL GA board photographer, and you need your photos made too. You don't have to ever worry about punctuation or anything else with me. You must remember that I teach kindergarten and inventive spelling is my forte (sp.?)! Now you've got me worried. Ms. Becky, I'm so happy for your accomplishments. The first year for all of us post ops is an exciting one. I'm proud of your weight loss with you. You really look fantastic!!! Becky, Happy Anniversery! I remember my first anniversery, wasn't quite the happiest for me. I took it as a day of some serious reflection on where I was at that time, and where I had been before surgery. Trying as hard as they could, my poor family just couldn't quite understand what that year had been like for me. Thank you, Dear Cathy!!! One good thing did happen. I bought a new bathing suit for our Florida trip next week. Gregg LOOKED amazed...almost made me confident enough to take a photo!
