Hi Michelle~
Welcome to the Ga. board
Shy of two months I will be four years out.
I am so happy to even be here
Here you will find a lot of mixed emotions about each ones doctors, but, nevertheless, you will find the right one for you. There are a lot of fine doctors in this area. My opinion would be to use Drs. Daly, Dr. Hart, Dr. Lin, Dr.Khatain or Dr. Appel.
If you are having more psychological problems than physical problems let me suggest that you start your paper trail now as it will be much easier when you have it going into a surgeon's office then not having it.
On this board you will also find a array of support from just about everybody here. I, for one, do not post all the time but beleive me you I do know what goes on this board.
Again, welcome to the Georgia gang board, as good ole' Modean Ryan would say, (by the way thats our sweet Tami!)

Hi Crece, thanks for the welcome- this is so great.
The doctor that I am seeing, is Dr. Angstadt, he is in Savannah- there are not any reviews on him here, so I hope I am in great hands. I havent heard of any of those Doctors that you mentioned.....
The doctors office, didnt tell me to make a paper trail at all- I wonder why? Maybe its my insurance? I have no clue. Well at this point, I have made up my mind, so if my insurance says no, I am doing it anyways.
Hows that? lol!!!
Hi Michelle, I too have GA Healthcare Partnership. They paid for mine. In fact after I got everything done it only took them less than 24 hours to approve me. Just wanted to welcome you and wish you luck!!!!! Keep in touch and let me know how it is going. I have a friend that is looking into the surgeon that you have chosen so let me know okay. Take care........................Betsy
HI Betsy!
I will let you know how the surgeon is. He praticed at one of the best medical schools in the north, and its A HARD school to get into! So I am impressed on his education. I think he is rather new ( 2001?) to this surgery, but I heard that he has had 80 cases in savannah an no major complications thus far.
Thanks for the affirming words about our insurance. I have heard, that I have no worries what so ever.. but I cant help to be worried!
I guess going for my letter of medical need in the morning, and it only being the first time I have met this PCP, makes me nervous.
Thanks for the warm welcome,
M

Michelle,
I am sorry I misunderstood your reply and thought
that you said that you were moving here to the Atlanta area and needed a doctor, so..... I was simply naming some of them, thats all.
I have heard of Dr. Angstadt, in reading different profiles it generally list their doctors names.
Why don't you post a question on the Georgia board asking, "Has anybody ever used him or do they know anything about him" Just a mere suggestion!
As for your insurance, you have good insurance and generally you guys who have your insurance gets approved rather quickly. If you need help with any of it if you are denied let me know. I try to help those who need help with their wls as well as phase two, which is the reconstructive part of it.
I know you will do fine. Ask all the questions that you want to ask and we GA folks will try to help answer you with our experiences.
Have a great day today~

Michelle,
Welcome first of all to the south and one of the most supportive and wonderful website for this journey. Like you, the main reason I wanted the surgery was for preventative measures and have never had a REAL medical problem other than boardline BP. It doesnt matter what the health reasons for most insurance as long as your BMI is 40 or greater, so you have a chance. I am 2 1/2 months out and I have lost 44 lbs. Now that I have joined the gym, I am hoping that will go down even quicker or tone it up anyway. Good luck on your journey and we are all here for your questions and support.
