Is paying full price a sin?

Okay, y'all!!! Please know that this is a bit tongue in cheek. For my birthday which is next week, I felt compelled to purchase the most beautiful pair of sandals that I have ever seen. Of course, they were not on sale nor where coupons accepted. I felt like it was wrong, but...the salesman agreed as did several fellow shoppers that they did look better on my feet than the others...AND...I called my hubby and he said to go ahead. (He is a horrible shopper, so I knew he would jump at the chance, and they were not nearly as expensive as the purse I have been wanting forever...compromise, right?) Well, I wear my new shoes for the first time today, and I stepped in "stinking" bright blue bubble gum. Who chews this stuff? Don't get me started on bubble gum? It is evil on pouches... if you chew a lot in one sitting. Not to be outdone, I used my bare hands and wiped that yucky stuff off. I think the shoes are okay now, but I am a bit nervous about wearing them again. Have I mentioned that I HATE being on a budget?!?! Well, hubby and I are going to see Cinderella Man...first movie date since Hitch! Yes, I am wearing my new shoes. Hugs, Becky

Hey, My Dear Barb!!! Okay, I'm having a little trouble with figuring out the digital camera thing. I got DH to download all of the photos sonce February onto a CD, but he has now misplaced it. Typical. I feel so much better knowing that Mama's picture in her casket is lost somewhere. Cinderella Man was OUTSTANDING!!! Three Oscars for best actor, actress, and supporting actor...write it down. It's one of those movies that I will probably see again....and that's rare! If I know the ending, I'm usually not interested...except the Bible! LOL I love you bunches!!! Becky

After going through your last few months, I bet you feel like you've been released from (eternal fire). Just think of how many seasons worth of wear you'll get out of your sandals--then they will seem very worth it. I bought a pair two years ago that I love (so comfortable) and I am still wearing them this summer. Okay--they don't look as good as they did-but they're really more comfortable than they were the day I bought them. Just figure the wears and divide that by the cost--and you'll find it was a GOOD BUY. At least this is the reasoning I use on hubby when I splurge on something. LOL Hugs... Hey, Michelle, You make a good point. I do wear my shoes out, and since they're Clarks, they should last a while. The only sad thing is that I don't think they're dressy enough for church clothes. Who knows, maybe I'll start a new trend. I'm under the choir gown anyway...and it gets pretty hot. I think part of the reason that I am wanting to shop is to avoid getting our house ready to sell. Gregg works two more weeks, so I really hate to start working without him. LOL I miss my booger bears, already had lunch with one Wednesday!!! School would be perfect if you could start at 10:00 and end at 2:00. This was one of those groups that you want to loop with...but I woud have to leave my parapro, and she's my sanity part.
