July Meeting....

Tami posted that she wanted to have a shower for Tonya and James on July 9th. I don't know if that was going to take place of the July get together or not. I assumed that it was. Since Tonya and James are getting married that next Sat on the 16th. Food for thought. Lynn

I have searched and searched, but I don't see where the June luncheon is going to be. Can you guys tell me where and when it is scheduled? Thank you!

Well, Barb...that is all it took...some guidance from you. I found it with no problem. If we can't make this one, we will definitely try for next month. About me, well, I called United Healthcare last week to ask how the process was going, and they said they didn't have anything for me. My packet was faxed to them on 5/19. So, I contacted AMC, and they have refaxed it. So, now I wait some more. I am very frustrated, but I'll keep on them and hopefully I'll have a July date. About Derrick...he is doing GREAT! Down a little over 70 pounds since 3/23! I'm so proud of him. He has been swimming almost everyday and can swim for about 30-40 minutes straight now! He is off almost all of his medications, and is feeling better and better every day. I can't wait to join him. We have so many plans for after we both lose our weight. Thanks for asking about us. I have been really busy these days with work, stuff at home and I'm trying to start a little business on the side. How are you doing, by the way?

I am doing better everyday. What a glorious God we have. AND... this is my first time to say this in a very, very, very....(I think you get the picture ) long time... I weigh under 300 pounds! I knew it would happen today! My mind is still saying what people all my life have told me... oh, thats jus****er weight. But thats ok, I'll get rid of the extra water I've been carrying around! I can imagine you are frustrated. This insurance business is really getting to me... the control they have over our health care. Even to the point of arguing with my PCP on what kind of blood pressure medicine is right for me. Just remember, all in God's time. uhhg I sound like a post-op now! Starting a business on the side sounds wonderful to me. Let me know what you're doing if you don't mind sharing, I'm curious. When I am feeling better I am planning on going to school to become a nutritionist. I have a strong urge to help the overweight community... does that sound weird? I want to give back what so many wonderful people have given me on this board. Please give Derrick my heartfelt congratulations! And a way to go, and a high five...lol I can't wait to start swimming again, my favorite (well, maybe second favorite) physical thing to do! I stopped a few years ago because I just got too embarressed about my body. Y'all are well on your way to becoming americas sexiest couple! You both looked great before surgery... the after can only get better. It was great to hear from you. Please keep in touch!

Barb, I have to tell you that I'm excited that you're feeling better every day. It's hard to explin to a pre-op that it REALLY DOES get better every day. The initial shock of things is something you have to go through to get you to where you are now! The journey has just begun. Keep getting stronger and God will see you through the entire journey!
