Are Atkins shakes a suitable source of protein? Will they cause dumping at all? Is there any reason not to use these?

Lm W, you really must let me know your name, I'm not even sure if you are male or female I am 8 days out and had been having a terrible time with dry heaves. My Doc had me start with a protien drink to see if it would help. He suggested Gluecerna which is a supplement for people with diabetes. At this point the most important thing is healing. We will get to the 'time to get in enough protien' etc. time in a bit. The gluecerna was horrible to me. I bought the atkins shakes and the chocolate was very tolerable. I am able to get about 2 ounces in twice a day. Make sure it is very cold and poor it over crushed ice. It goes down easier as it thins. I also use a straw as some odors make me very nauseaus. The atkins shakes are loaded with nutrients and actually has less carbs than the gluecerna. And was a great buy at 3.40 a six pack! I've not tried the other supplements. I cannot afford to buy a 40.00 tub of something to try it once and find I cannot tolerate it. It bothered me to waste the gluecerna at 12.00 a 6-pack! Just wanted to give you my humble opinion. You shall be in my thoughts, Barb

I start my day off with an atkins protein shake. I love them They come in a variety of flavors. You can find them at Walmart or Sams club. Good luck. NIna
