Tammy, Try the sugar free candy with mannitol or sorbitol in it. One or two pieces should do the tric****ep a box of Russell Stover's pecan delights for just that medicinal purpose! denise

I used to do what Denise suggested, but with Tootsie Roll candies. Hubby got upset with me because what I was doing was forcing myself to "dump" which wasn't a good thing to do. Since I started my flaxseed regimen I don't have too many problems with constipation. If I do it is because I have gotten lax in my daily routine. Check out Tooter's website for info on flax seed at -----www (dot) freepgs.com/bariatricbytes/Flax.html When I need to use a laxative, I like to use Smooth Move tea. A cup of warm (and not bad tasting tea) in the evening and everything is fine in the morning. And it doesn't cause stomach cramping or hot burning movements either. You can find it in your organic or health food section at Publix or Kroger. I have also seen it at GNC. It is wonderful! Good luck, Patti

Thank you Denise & Patty, I will give them a try. At this point I will try about anything. I called the Dr. yesterday & they said it was most likely my Iron pill I am taking that is making me constipated. They are putting me on another pill. Thank you both so much. Tammy Gunter

Tammy, YOu might want to try some benefiber daily especially if you are taking iron. That might keep you from getting constipated. D'Lynn

Tammy, I feel your pain! I've had problems with constipation also. The Dr put me on miralax which is an odorless and tasteless gentle stool softner. I have also used the flaxseed and it works. My problem is that I can't seem to commit to it on a daily basis. UGH! I do recommend the fresh ground flax seed though. Give it a try and let us know how it works for you. Hugs, Tonya

Thanks Tonya, where do you get the fresh ground flax seed? Tammy

You can buy it whole or already ground at most health food stores. I recommend getting the whole and purchasing a small coffee grinder from wal-mart (about 8.00) and grinding it fresh when you are ready to use it, that way you are getting all the oils and fiber. I also recommend getting the vac****ealed bags that are stored in the refridgerator and that have a expiration date. That way you know it is fresh. Tonya
