If you are suffering; if you feel something is definitely not right; if you can't get nutrition & hydration into you; and, if your doc doesn't call you back in response to your message clearly stating you are in pain/distress/unable to eat or drink; call the doc back within 2-3 hours & if that doesn't get a callback, let his office/answering service know that you are at the point of taking yourself to (a) the ER at the hospital where the surgery was performed, or, if it's too far away (b) the nearest ER and you are telling whomever is the attending physician to contact your WLS doc. You have the right to EXCELLENT medical CARE. Lovingly, Lauralyn (former chaplain at Northside Hosp., Atl. & VAMC, Decatur)

Hi, Kathy, I didn't have your problems, but one of my best friends did. She's GREAT now! In fact of all my post op friends, she has lost the most and looks and feels amazing. Her sister and neighbor and the surgery during the same month. She saw a plastic surgeon a few weeks ago and is ready for her next surgery. In the beginning, she kept trying to find things that would stay down. Unfortunately, it was trial and error. I know that you probably could care less about how she feels now, but, maybe, it will encourage you about the future. For me, I was most successful with watery mashed potatoes in the beginning. Eggs and anything with chicken made me hurl. I still cannot touch eggs, and barely touch chicken. Have you tried the Dole's fruit pops? They went down easily for me. I ate hundreds. I hope you feel better soon! Love, Becky
