Hair Loss
Hi Debra!
UP YOUR PROTEIN!!!! I tried Biotin, zinc lozenges, Bioxin hair, etc.
The ONE AND ONLY thing that seemed to help, was upping the protein.
However, sadly, I think it's just something you have to let run it's course.
I lost LOTS...I was SOOO thankful I was not in the food industry! YUCK!
However, now I am 11 mos out and my hair has grown back in....It's not as long as the rest of my hair and it sticks out in some places, but I am SO thankful to have it back, I would SPIKE the new hair if it made it happy! LOL!!
Good luck dear!!

Debra,
This is one of those things that we can't do much about I'm afraid. Speaking for myself, I used to have VERY thick hair, it was quite long, so when it really started to fall out I was really upset. I must say, although it did thin out alot, I never got any bald spots or anything like that. I took the bull by the horns, and go it cut ULTRA short. I don't know if this is an option for you, but for me, it was the way to go. You will eventually get back your hair, for some, they like it even more, and for others it has never been the same. For me, it's not the same, BUT , I can live with it. I hope that I have helped, and I hope that you will be one of the lucky ones!!!!
Good Luck,
Cathy Martin
Debra, as you can tell by the other responses, this is another area where everyone's a bit different. I was already getting 90-100 grams of protein per day when my hair started falling out (about 2 months out). It's still falling out now at 4 months. Protein, biotin, omega 3 oils, zinc ... nothing has helped. Like some of the others who posted, I used to have really thick hair, and now it's quite thin. So I bought a wig! It looks just like my color, almost exactly same style, and people at work can't even tell it's a wig. Looks so much like "me" even my husband forgets I have it on. (Hopefully, in another 6 months or so I won't have to keep wearing it, unless I just want to be lazy some morning.) In any event, I'm down 70 lbs. now and wouldn't trade THAT for all the hair I used to have!
Hang in there, and remember the reasons you had the surgery done, and the hair thing will become less and less important.
Blessings to you,
Cheryl
I am 7 months out and have been losing it for a couple of months. I had my hair cut short and permed ,about a month ago, so it would look like I have hair. It started coming out even more. Today I noticed that I have some little baby hairs coming in. Yeahhh!!!!! I was starting to think about a wig. I have taken my vitamins and gotten in my protein since about 3 weeks out. A friend of mine that hasn,t had this surgery was losing her hair and feeling bad. Her labwork showed a low zinc level. Her doctor also told her that low zinc was a cause of body odor. Could this be the reason my deodorant that has worked well for years isn't working well anymore? Hmmm. The only tips I have is to get your vitamins and protein and water in. It won't prevent it from falling out but may help it come back sooner. Good Luck!!!!!
