Another goal completed!
After 7 months post-op and a loss of 110 lbs, I've gone through a lot of changes and checked many things off my "I want to do after I loose weight list". But this weekend I completed a big one on the list. Coming from a family of big women, my little sister is an anomoly. Since we were born in the era when fathers didn't go in to the delivery room, I have always sworn that she was exchanged with our baby after delivery and we were never told. It would explain the blue eyes and the fact that she is a size 4-6.
I wanted to lose enough weight that I could go shopping with my sister and not have to go to the fat department. Well I did it! And not only did I do it but we almost wore the same size. She was trying on 6's and I actually bought a couple pair of size 8 pants. I had forgotten that they make sizes without a 1 or a 2 in front of it. It was the most amazing feeling to pick up sizes 8 or 10 and know that they would fit. And for the first time in my life I bought something from the petite section.
I can't wait to see where I end up. I'm still 25 to 30lbs above my goal.

Denise,
You have no idea what your post has brought back for me. You have just totally reaffirmed why I am here.( not that I needed it!)
I too, come from a family of big girls, and I too have a very skinny sister. I can say though that she WAS adopted, so the in lies the reason for her size! Anyway, last year she and I went shopping, and I got a dress, and she told me that she would never be able to fit into a dress that small. I was speechless. Now for full disclosure, she had a baby, and her body has changed since then, and she had about 10-20 extra lbs. I can remember like it was yesterday going shopping with her a few years ago, and we went into Casual Corner, they had so many cute things and I couldn't fit into anything. For her, it wasn't about what to get that fits,(like it was for me) it was about what to get that she likes. It is still hard to believe after all this time, that I can now go shopping for what I like, not what that fits. Thanks for giving me that reminder!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS DENISE!!!!!!
I KNOW THAT WAS EXCITING FOR YOU AND I CAN'T WAIT TILL I WILL BE ABLE TO PUT ON A PAIR OF PANTS WITH A BELT. I KNOW HOW EXCITING THAT IS, I GET EXTREMELY EXCITED WHEN I SEE MYSELF IN SOMETHING SMALLER NOW. JUST WAIT TILL I LOSE 110 LBS AND WHAT I WILL BE WEARING.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
