I'm Home and recooping!

Wow--finally home. Spent 10 days at northside with a abcess on my liver the size of a baseball. They had to finally drain it (not a fun experience if you've never had your liver punched into!). An infectious disease dr was called in to help with my case--and now I'm finally home again. I felt like I knocked on death's door a time or two--and my family was frantic that I was dying. I am missing chunks of time and days--and don't remember a whole lot of what happened to me. I had no idea I'd been there 10 days until on day 9 my mom said "tomorrow is day 10 for you!" I was stunned. I knew I had been there a long time--but no idea how long. Dr. Hart took excellent care of me-he met me at 2am at the ER even tho the ER dr. had seen me and been in touch with him....he saw me at least once every single day. I can't say enough about him. I love that man. Thanks to all of you who have inquired or whispered my name in prayer. I needed it! I'm so thankful to be home...so thankful to see my girls. My kids have cried every single time they've come to put their arms around me. I am so thankful to be home with them and have this second chance at life. God is so good to me! Hugs to you all... I think I started the abcess the weekend of May 6th--started getting sick and running fever then. It took them until May 13th to find it and then the following Mon. to drain it. I hope no more drama, too--I'm tired of being sick! My days and nights are mixed up (hospitals will do that to you!)....other than that, I'm doing really well. Weak as a kitten, but getting well. Hugs! Michelle

Michelle, It's great to hear that you are home and doing well!!! As for the liver being punctured.... I can sympathize atleast a little with you there. When they did my liver biopsy I was awake, and remember the puncturing they did on mine... That was miserable, and it will never happen again with me awake. Many thoughts and prayers are still coming your way for a speedy recovery!!!!! Susan
