TT APPROVED!!!

Can you say, "HAPPY!!" I just called BCBS and they said I am approved for my TT and my approval letter went out on Monday. Dr. Wang's office won't schedule without the letter and said for me to call tomorrow they should have it. She did tell me the doctors schedule is pretty open and even next week was an option for me!!!!! Just wanted to share my joy I cant believe this is happening!!!! NAT

I just looked at your pics on your profile and you are looking great. You have done an awesome job at losing. I was just wondering if you were considering having any other ps. I am thinking about my arms and thighs. I dont think insurance covers that though. Jamie

Dang! I couldn't see your pictures on the website. I don't know why not if other can view them. I just KNOW I wanna copy of your letter of medical necessity! Ha! One day all of us will face this dilemma. We certainly need the wording that BCBS needed to allow this. I'm having the worst back trouble as we speak...sciatica again, sorta...but literally, when I suck my gut in as far as I can or literally lay this fold of skin up on the vanity (I know that sounds icky, sicky and yucky, but it's TRUE! ( it just sort of takes of pressure off my back. I just KNOW this extra weight pulling on the front of me is aggrevating this back stuff. *sigh*. I just don't know how you prove that! I was wondering if you had trips to the doctor over a period of time that indicates you were having trouble at points. Thanks in advance for any info...and CONGRATS!

I am sending this post from the other board I posted to a friends response... But my surgeon has a high approval rate for TT on bypass patients. She also does the extra muscle tightening at no additional cost. So you get the approval for the pentilectomy (skin removal only) and she foots the bill for the rest at no charge Her name is Dr. Bernadette Wang-Ashraft at the Artisan Group near northside hospital she is the best all woman practice... Here is the post: Girl BCBS has proven themselves to be overwhelmingly supportive KK... My surgeon and PCP did good letters and made sure they put in the letter that I had tried all 3 medication for the sores on my body do to the excess skin. BCBS likes to know you have exhausted all 3 ventures, (cream, oral, and powder medication prescribed) I have had no prob with them as long as you have a good PS whoms staff knows how to present the problem. I changed my PS cuz the first one only submitted forms from BCBS to BCBS and the current one I chose does not do a form letter but used dictation from the PS results from the consultation and the letters from my doctors. I am happy with my PS cuz insurance only pays for skin removal but my PS does the whole 9 included in a abdominalplasty including the muscle tightening. I told her my surgeon thinks I may have a hernia so I told her I may have a hernia but not for sure. So looks like I was just approved the the TT didn't see anything for the hernia in the paperwork. You need to go ahead and submit for one girl. Shoot wont hurt to try!!!! Just have your paperwork in order B4 you go to the PS office. Good Luck!!! NAT

CONGRATS I HAVE MY TT AND ARMS ON APRIL 26, MY RECOVERY HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS BUT I GOT AN INFECTION IN ONE OF MY TUBES . GOOD LUCK TO U.

Congratulations! You give me hope... I did not know what to expect from BCBS. Did you have any particular problems you had to refer to in order to get them to approve the surgery? Any tips you could give me? Thanks, and again - way to go! Cheryl
