update HAPPY CAMPER
I posted yesterday but for some reason it did not show up.
Michelle is not doing well. She is still in the hospital. She is so weak that she cannot be left alone or even take a drink by her self. I have not went to visit because until now they did not know what was wrong with her. She is on IV's and has had the dry heaves for a week now. She still has a temp and a very high white count, which indicates infection. Dr. Hart called in an infectious disease Doctor Friday. Yesterday she had a MRI (again) and they found an absess on her liver. They do not know why. It could be because of the surgery. They are going to asperate the absess and put in a drain tube, After the infection goes down some the doctor thinks she will begin to feel better. Her mother said that she is scared because she is so weak. It does not look like she will come home any time soon. The family is hoping they will do the procedure today but because of the hospital/surgery schedule it may have to be Monday. Her mother said she does not need calls or company. They are to call me daily to keep me, and other friends posted.
Pray for her and her family. Her inlaws came in from Arkansas to help take care of her children so her parents can take turns with her husband staying with her.
Anne
Anne,
Thank you so much for the update.
Michelle is in my thoughts and prayers. Her family is too. I pray they find what it is very soon so they can treat it. I pray that Michelle may find comfort and rest during this time of healing. May their faith never waiver and may they find some peace during this difficult time.
I pray for comfort for Michelles friends also. You are a dear Anne.
Love, Barb
Barb,
I just wanted to send you a quick note. I know that your surgery is coming up very soon, and I also know that you are very scared. With everything that is going on with Michelle right now, it puts in right out there that complications can and do happen. Have faith in your surgeon, and the great work that he does, have faith in yourself that this is the path that you should choose. Complications are the exception, they are somewhat rare, but when it happens to one of our own, it's scary. Please remember that we are all here for you, no matter what. If you are scared, tell us, and by all means ask any questions that you have. If I don't have the answer I know someone will. You are in my thoughts and prayers today, and I just wanted to let you know that.
Cathy
Cathy, I just have to tell you that I think you are wonderful for sending this message to Barb. It is TERRIBLY unfortunate what is going on with Michelle, but it is so important to reassure those in the process. I recall how nervous I was before surgery, and thank goodness for you and your calming words.
You are so special to us.
Take care.
Tami
Thanks for the update on Michelle.. She is most certainly in my thoughts and prayers. I can only imagine the thoughts and the fears that must be running through the minds of her family. You stay strong in your beliefs and keep on making progress with your surgery. I know that at a time like this it makes us all stop and wonder if we did the right thing. But then when we look around we find out it was the right thing for us. Michelle will begin to get well soon and this will be all but a bad dream for her. I have that much trust in the Lord that he is going to bring her through this all. Between God and the Dr's she is going to do fine.
Please keep me updated on how things are going. And good luck with your first day back to school....I made it fine on Friday. Even better news.....this is our last week of school.....
Patrice
Thank you for the update, Anne!!! My mother-in-law had complications with an infection from back surgery lat year. Hubby did the same thing after colon re-section. There's always that horrible chance. Both are great now, and both would have still had the operations. Having the infectious disease doctor usually leads to other specialists too. I am glad Michelle's in-laws have come to help with the kids. She and her family will remain in my prayers. Please, please give Michelle our love. Please also tell her amazing mom that I LOVE her and am praying for all of them.
Hugs,
Becky
P.S. I will be thinking of you tomorrow!!! Take it EASY, Girlfriend!
