OT - New Job Going Well!!!
Happy Happy Joy Joy!!! I made it to work on time EVERY day this week. I even wore MAKEUP every day!! Can you believe it?? I was quite upfront about my surgery during my interviews, so several people at work know about it. They are all interested, and curious. The first day, my new team lead and group manager took me (and the other new person) to lunch. I just had an appetizer and she was quite curious as to how I could eat so little (crab stew - it was great). Of course, some days I can eat quite a bit more!!
I have found out that one of the benefits from this company is an up to $150 reimbursement for a gym membership, so I may look into that soon! The building they used to be in had a gym, but this one doesn't. However, there is a shopping center up the hill (not far) with several eateries and some people walk there for lunch. I may begin doing that once or twice a week. There is a break room with 3 fridges, microwaves, etc. so taking my lunch will be easy. I went to Publix the other day and picked up single serving apple sauce and some cheese sticks to keep in the fridge - great for snacks.
Anyway, I'm enjoying it - everyone I have met is great and very helpful. It's a real laid-back atmosphere - so far low pressure (yeah!!). I'm sure there will be times when it is nuts, but that's just the nature of the IT world. Also, they have already approved my vacation for June, so I can go to the OES State convention.
Hope everyone had a great week. Sorry I can't make it to the get-together next week, but duty calls me to Marietta. Maybe next month.
Thanks for all of your encouragement. You all mean more than you can EVER know!! You all ROCK!!!
Love ya,
Ann in Duluth
