I am on a roll!... and it sure feels good April 13th I had my first meeting with the nutritionist, and weighed in at 409.... I weighed in today at 382! I need to lose 40 total before surgery... and I have no idea when that is yet but I am sure feeling confident that I will make my goal! Only 13 pounds to go...so maybe I can lose more than the surgeon requires... .... and this was the one thing I was sweating the most! C'mon Insurance... a quick affirmative answer would make me VERY happy indeed! Still no picture on my posts??... wow, sure takes a long time.... I wont look the same at all by the time the pic gets posted here! S'ok though... need a "before" shot anyhoo Onward!

Last time I checked I was a man... Sure would surprise someone I know if that wasn't the case! I will endeavor to type in a more masculine fashion from now on

How do you type in a more masculine fashion???? It's the cool "c" at the end of your name. I've thought about going by "Beck" since that's what my dad calls me...bet I could confuse some folks too. Hopefuly, your pic will take care of any future mix ups.

"Hopefuly, your pic will take care of any future mix ups." Maybe not... especially if I use the pic of me when I was drunk in Las Vegas and ended up wearing that .. uhh... err.... (blush) .... better not go into that here

Marc, Your weight loss is terrific!!! Okay, sir, you are REALLY beating me. I'm averaging about three pounds a month. Keep up the good work. I have to admit that I gained before surgery. I wish I had done it your way. Good for you!!! Hope you get your picture posted soon. Any "very nice and knowledgable" people out there who can help our GA boy???? Yay, Marc!!! Becky

Hey Marc, that's awesome! Congrats on your weight lose. I was not able to loose a single pound before surgery, I actually put some on. I never realized how close I came to loosing my surgery date, but my surgeon forged on ahead and I was left shaking in my boots! You won't have to go through that! Kelle

Marc, When Dr. Hart tells you to lose weight before surgery, he isn't kidding!! I didn't lose all of the 30 lbs he WANTED me to, but I had to lose most of it before he would schedule me for surgery. You are doing great!! Keep it up - it will just get easier after surgery. Ann in Duluth PS BTW, I really love Dr. Hart - I just didn't realize how serious he was about me losing weight before surgery. At my first visit he said he'd "like" for me to lose about 30 lbs. Well, gee, I'd "like" to do that too, but since 2 years on WW didn't get me even to 20 lbs lost. . . After I got my insurance approval he wouldn't schedule my surgery until I did lose some (at least I hadn't gained during that period). Sigh - it took me a couple of extra months, but you are WAY ahead of the game!!

OH now I am really nervous.........I have gained 7 lbs. since my last nutritionist appt. She said I couldn't gain any weight before surgery. I am still trying to eat that last meal before the surgery! Dr. Hart is my surgeon, and I guess he means business! My insurance will not pay after July 1, so......any help on losing really fast will be appreciated! Karen

I grabbed an Atkins book, went home and read it, then made a shopping list... headed to the store, bought me a boat load of food and started immediately... I gotta tell ya it is a weird feeling to eat a huge omelet with cheese and ham mushrooms and hollandaise sauce and actually be following a weight loss regemen... but it works! The hunger and cravings really did go away... which was the one thing in the Atkins book that I read that I was thinking "Yea, right" when I read it.... he wasn't lying. Do Atkins for 2 weeks... I'd be surprised if you didn't lose at least 15 pounds in that period...
