The day I have been looking forward to is getting closer.I never thought I would be a person who could be looking forward to having surgery. But I don't consider this surgery. I look at this as being a life changing event. Some of my co-workers are astonished at my enthusiasm. Guess they look at it as being surgery, the pain , the recovery period and all the down sides to it. Whereas all I see is a new beginning. I have yet to be nervous or scared. Is this normal? I am so looking forward to going up and finalizing all the paperwork this week. Then the countdown will be on. Also it will give me the chance to visit with a lady I met when we first embarked on this journey. She will be having surgery on Wednesday, April 28th. It is amazing how close we are having our surgeries. I want to thank you all for the support that you have shown throughout this journey. I do believe the journey has just began. I look forward to beginning each day with a new challenge to conquer. Patrice

Hi Patrice, I want to wish you the best on your upcoming surgery. I too will be beginning the journey . I am scheduled for an open RNY April 27th. Scared yes... but I think it's more for anticipation of a new beginning to a healthier life. Cheers, Janet

Patrice, I am sorry I have not been on lately, but I have been reading some of the posts. I know you are really excited, and your pre-op is nothing like what you went through before. Maybe one stick for some blood but that is all. I will be praying for you while you are there and I know the feeling about not being nervous. I was not scared or nervous with this surgery but i was for my hysterectomy...hmmm...weird I guess. If you need anything, call me...I will be glad to answer any questions or just listen if you need to rattle. D'Lynn 232/229/203

Thanks D'Lynn, You know me always full of questions... I am trying to just go with the flow here..Was expecting something in the mail today from Emory Dunwoody, but to my surprise there was nothing there. Guess when you look for something it never comes. I have all ideas I will get something before I go up on Thursday for my pre-ops. As for nerves they have not arrived here yet. I see so many people talk about being nervous or scared but as for me it has not happened.. I trust that the Lord will not bring me to something that he will not bring me through. I believe that he has instilled the knowledge in Dr. Hart and that everything that happens on that day will happen in his name. Knowing all the risks makes me more determined to beat them. I am so looking forward to beginning this new chapter in my life. Thanks for just being here when I needed a sounding board. But slide on down on that bench I am coming over to join you all soon.. Patrice, I am so happy for you. You will be a skinny minny in no time flat! Plus healthier...and that's most important. I've given up right now that this will become a reality for me in the near future. I am trying "ONCE AGAIN" to lose some weight. Surgery is just not something we can afford at the moment. But I can't "weight" for your journey to begin. I love ya girl and I am so proud of you! Shelley
