Hi: I have been stuck at 240# for the past five weeks, I haven't changed my eating habits at all, I continue to eat the same stuff. I am worried that I may have stopped losing for good and I am only about four months out from my surgery. I have lost 65# since the surgery and now I fluctuate between 240 and 235 - has anyone had the same experience? I am exercising and doing everything I think I should be doing. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, Meg

Hey Meg You have done great. 65 pounds is great. Dont get frustrated everyone hits a plateau you just may have to modify your diet intake. Did you make a food journal? If so go back to around 2 months post op and see what has changed. I have not had wls yet but that is what I was told by the nurse at one of my nutrition ed classes, it was a requirement for the surgery for me. Dont give up you are doing great.

Sweetheart - guess what.....plateaus happen! I can tell you that you have the knowledge within you to break it too! Go back to a more liquid diet and increse your exercise habits and it will break! Your body has to reach a point where it catches up with itself! Don't worry if it takes a few weeks to catch up - it will go back to loosing! I speak from expirence on this..... You must learn paitence!!! Much Dee Dee

Hi Meg Sorry I don't have any answers for you but wanted to let you know I am right there with you. I have been on a plateau for a month now so I am very interested in the replys you get. I am also 4 months out and down about 63lbs. I know to expect them but it still does not make it any easier to accept or handle. I am just so ready for the scale to move. I was starting to feel the same as you. Wondering if I have done something wrong. Looking forward to reading more suggestions. Gloria W.

Hi Meg, Have no fear. Yes, you will have weeks where you stay at the same weight, and it is the MOST frustrating thing EVER. Pointers...increase your protein, make SURE you are getting your water in... Are you eating more carbs than you were? Just do a little check.. It WILL drop again...I went through it and STILL do. I'm 9 months out, and just came off a 5 week plateau..and I'm teetering right near a huge personal goal. I did a gut check last week...up'ed my protein, backed off my carbs and drank more water than is humanly possible, and I've dropped 6 more pounds. DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tami -138
