Fuzzy Navel Nectar protein!!
Okay--my surgery is a week away-and I'm still on the protein hunt. I know my tastes might change-but I have said all along I'll feel better if I just find ONE protein drink I can stand before my date.
Well...I found it!!!
My samples from Vita lady came today-and included was a pack of Fuzzy Navel from Nectar. I mixed it with some crystal light orange flavored drink-and it was REALLY GOOD.
Not 'good' as in 'I can drink it if I have to'....but good as in 'YUM!!'.
I quickly ordered more-and hopefully it will be just as good to me post surgery. If so, my protein worries are solved, cuz I will actually enjoy sipping on it!
7 more days to go--start scooting over, losers, HERE I COME!
Hugs!!
Michelle
Hi Michelle, Fuzzy Navel is one of my favorites too. It is also good mixed with SF Tang. Takes me back to my younger days LOL. Well good luck with what I like to call HE"" week. That last week before surgery when one minute you're crying and the next you're laughing. Time speeds up and slows down all at the same time But, you're on your way. And I'm a moving over, saving you a seat on the loser's side!!!!!!!! Come on over girl!!!!!!!
Take care...........................Betsy
Hey, Shree! We're almost there, huh?! I'm still excited! I go for pre-op today, and I'm thinking the nerves may set in after that.
On the fuzzy navel, it's 34.5 per serving (according to the label they stuck on my sample). Here's the problem (I found out yesterday with Rachel, the nutritionist.). They don't have enough calories. (like I've EVER worried about too FEW calories--new mind set, here!) She said for the first week, when we're living off protein drinks, she wants me on a MILK based drink (like the unjury vanilla or chocolate) because it will give us the calories needed to have some energy. The fuzzy navel, according to her, doesn't have near enough calories for that first week or so.
Hmmm...big disappointment!
She did give me samples of the unjury-choc and vanilla. I haven't tried the choc., but the vanilla was really good (as in I drank the whole thing without any hesitation!). The flavor reminded me of homemade vanilla ice cream that had melted. No aftertaste, no funky protein smell at all. (the smell of some of the drinks gets to me long before I can even taste them--HATE smelly drinks!) I'm going to order some of the vanilla today. At this point, I've got enough protein drinks to last thru a nuclear holocaust.
Have a great day!
Michelle
How did your Pre- Op go? Mine is on Monday AGAIN *lol*. I am still excited too, but trying not to be TOO excited. I guess I am afraid that something else is going to come up that will stop me again, but I am staying optimistic.
I haven't bought any protein drinks yet. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be good that I could get local until I can order some unjury? I have an issue with the smell too...if it smells like hay or seaweed I just can't seem to get it down
Do you have an angel already? E-mail me your last name so I can at least call and check on you!!
Thanks for replying to me,
Shree
