PFT...?

Hey y'all! I'm scheduled for a PFT (Pulminary Function Test) on friday and was wondering what to expect. I have envisioned myself out of breath and dizzy. Am I gonna faint? Can my 5 year old go with me to this? I see this pulminologist on friday and my psych test is on monday. (pssst... then I'm done til preop!) I can't wait to get my date! The PFT didn't bother me. It really was to test the lung functions and make sure you'll be okay while you're intebated during your operation. Your kid will probably get a kick out of seeing you having to breathe so hard into a tube. If they are doing the ABG with it? That part HURT. it's not like getting blood drawn.....the have to hit the arteries and they are deeper! Once the needle's out it's over.....no more pain! Don't sweat it though - it'll be MUCH easier than having the upper GI.....that was SOOOOOOOOOOOO gross to me! Good luck and God bless! Dee Dee
