April 17, 2005-
Well, It's official, for the first time in 13-14 years I actually weigh what reflects on my driver's license. Major milestone here! My driver's license has said 155 all those years with me knowing darn well that it wasn't true. I mean gosh at my highest weight I was not too far from being 100 lbs over that big lie.LOL
Just for the record, the digital scale I weighed on was in the Golden Gallon gas station bathroom in Manchester, TN.LOL This scale was one that cost a quarter, give you your weight and your lucky lotto numbers.LOL BUt, when I got home I checked on my scale and I got the same reading so IT IS OFFICIAL!
~
Well, in case you are wondering why I was in the Golden Gallon in Manchester, TN, I will tell you. I went to a week long conference for work in Nashville, TN.(The pit stop was on the way home) James took the week off work to join me since we were staying at such a beautiful hotel in a pretty good city and the powers that be allowed spouses to participate in the evening festivities. SO we drove my car up to Nashville. One exit from the one we were to get off, a semi ran us off the road slam into the concrete center divider wall at about 65 mph. God was there with us and we were able to walk away with no injuries. I suffered minor whiplash and James suffered from hurt feelings(he was driving). I prayed before we left for the trip and prayed one more time on the way up that Lord get us there safely. He did get us there safely, but I guess I forgot to be specific and ask for safety and accident free. Trust me when I tell you I was real specific on the return trip prayerLOL
So my car is totaled but we are safe. James and I went out yesterday and bought me a beautiful Toyota Highlander. It's what I've been wanting and planned to buy at the end of the year...like James said he just made it happen sooner
Despite the rough start, we had a nice time.
Oh and one more thing...we picked up my wedding dress yesterday. I ordered it about a 6 weeks ago and it was too small. I purposely ordered it small so that it wouldn't be too big come July, well all be darned...the dress fits now. So I am sure that it will need alterations if not returned for a smaller size. Certainly beats trading it in for a larger size huh?
Until next time...
Stay well,
Tonya

Tami,
We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland. It is such a beautiful hotel. The botanical gardens are just gorgeous and so serene. It's like a city within its self. I hit the Godiva shop...do you know they make sugar free chocolate now...YUMMY!!
Too bad we couldn't have hooked up. That would've been fun.
We are going to try to make the monthly meeting. No tell'n what will happen between then and now though.
Hugs,
Tonya
Tonya & James:
Glad your doing well and that the weight is the right amount on the drivers license. I can't wait to get to what my driver's license reflects. I have had 155 on my license every since I moved to Atlanta in 1975, so when I reach that mile stone, believe me, I will post then. I hope you and James will be there on the 30th. would love to see yall
Mary
Hey girlie! We've been missing you. I'm so glad you're okay and neither one of you got hurt in the accident! Semi drivers can be some of the most dangerous on the road. My mom used to manage the restaurant in a Truck Stops of America location, and she knew a lot of truck drivers. THey even admitted that (at that time anyway) most of them were hyped up on speed in order to make their deadlines, they wouldn't sleep for days on end, etc. I always try to be careful of them when I'm on the road.
I'm so excited for you about the wedding and the fabulous dress! I hope we get to see you and James at the dinner on the 30th!

Tonya,
Wow! I am so happy that you and James are okay! You both are so very lucky to have walked away from that, someone up there is watching out for you!
You are too funny about your drivers license, for years, I had the same weight on mine! Even when I was 268, it said 155! I think I might be pathological, because when I got my new license I put 130,(instead of 135) I might need professional help!
Well, I'm glad to know you are both doing well...
Cathy
Girl, if you wanted a new car then just go out and buy one. You didn't have to total the other one. Glad you both are made it through okay. Congratulations on the driver's license. I passed what mine said a few months ago (I had updated it a little a few years ago because I thought the woman would burst out laughing if I didn't).
And good luck on the dress. Hopefully it will have to be taken in at least 2 sizes before you wear it. You will be a beautiful bride.
