Saying Goodbye....

Monday was Kenneth's appointment to see Dr. Martindale. I was very sad because this is the last time I will see him in some time. He's leaving for Portland in the next few weeks. Makes me pretty sad. Dr. M came into the room and he was really happy with Kenneth's loss, he's down 57 pounds in four weeks! I told Dr. M I would miss him dearly. Then I said I've got something for you. I said, "I've lost 272 pounds" and he smiles. I could see from the look on his face that this meant a lot to him. It was a priceless moment. I then gave him a heart shaped box and said " Every pound I've lost I'm giving you a kiss back". The box had kisses in it. I've kissed those pounds away. I guess what made the moment easier is when he told us that he already had two patients waiting for him in Portland. The surgeon's he's going to be working with have two men waiting for his help. One's 750 pounds and the other is over 800. That put a smile on my face because he's going to be helping them. I told him it was really a shame that more surgeon's don't take on the larger patients. He's truly a blessing. Picture of Kenneth, Dr M. and I ourworld.cs.com/wlsandyou/Webpage/1.jpg Amy 615/343/Healthy -272 pounds

Amy, I know that had to be hard to say goodbye to someone that has done so much for you & Kenneth, but look at it this way it is not a goodbye, maybe you can keep in touch with him. You are doing wonderful with your weight loss, you look beautiful. Kenneth has lost alot in his first month, that is "GREAT". My surgery is 5/2/05 & I sure hope I do as well as you both. I'd love to talk with you sometime before my surgery. I know what I am suppose to eat after I come home but I always like talking with other people who has already had the surgery. Also if you have any free time I'd love for you to spruce up my profile. (((((HUGS))))) Tammy Gunter

Tammy, Between working now and other things I don't get much time at all to do any profiles. I would say to write into the html team. I know they would be able to help you out. [email protected] If you do want to email you can anytime also. [email protected] I'd be happy to talk with you before surgery. Amy

oh my gosh Amy... I thought you were leaving this board when I read your heading. What a loss that would be. So I'm glad you are n't. It must be disheartening to see your doctor leave the area. I can imagine you feel especially close to him, he actually saved your life. It's wonderful to see your outlook on this, look at the good hes going to be doing where hes going. You and your husband have been truly blessed by this man. Wishing you continued success in all you do Amy. Its an inspiration to read the wonderful things happening in your life. Barb
