No question is a dumb question....I don't remember exactly, but I know it was at least a week. Patti

Hey, Robin, I THINK it was about day fourteen for me. After the bowel prep and liquids for all of those days, it takes a while for your system to adjust. When it finally happened, it was unrelenting for about three or four days. I remember wondering if it was normal to "not be normal."

For me.... the night of surgery..... I guess since I couldn't get my monthly, I had to do that instead Susan Lap RNY 12-1-04 285-210-155 (-75)

Not a dumb question at all. I think since surgery I have become as fixated on my bowel habits as an 80yo woman. Or should I say lack of bowel habits. It took me about 5 days post op to finally give some things up. denise

For me it was the second or third day after surgery. I went into surgery on a Wednesday and was release Saturday morning, I think. And I believe it was my last day in the hospital that I finally had to go. For me I think a lot of it was them removing my gallblagger. Trust me, once the gallbladder is gone, at least for the first 6 months or so, even a cracker will make you "run for the border". That has gotten a lot better for me over the last 3 months, but it still seems like the only BMs I have are diarrhea like and I don't have many "regular" BMs anymore. Luckily the bouts of diarrhea seem to be single incidences and never last long. I know, TMI! Kelle
