Hi. My Aunt had this surgery and had a few complications, she had some ulcers and then she had her gall bladder out but she has lost about 60 pounds. I do not think I want the surgery, I just joined weigh****chers but I am making some decisions right now about myself, my appearance, (I need dentures desperately) etc. Also, my blood pressure is 180/100 and my blood work show elevated liver enzymes.(fatty liver?) So, I really need to focus and get going to lose weight. I am 5'5 and I weigh 250 pounds, which my doctor says is about 100 pounds overweight. Because I am 41 and I have had two kids, he says that is a reasonable goal. I just want to look/feel better. Anyway, I am also a member of weigh****chers online but I just wanted to say hello. Welcome Aisha, I am glad to hear you are making some weight changes for your health. This site does not only support those who have made the surgery decision, but anyone who has a problem with their weight. The decision to have surgery is a personal one, and one that only you can make. I believe that it is something you should consider only when other dieting options have failed. Weigh****chers is a great program. Best of luck to you. Welcome to the board, Patti

Hi, Princess Aisha, Welcome to our board. I agree that surgery should be your last option! It would be awesome for you to get the 100 pounds off with healthy eating and exercise. Even with the surgery, those things are necessary. We're all on this weight loss journey together!!! Hugs to you, Becky
