Okay, this is for you oldies. I have really been tired lately even though I have been taking all my meds a directed. Well being a nurse, I know that B12 can be the culprit, and it was. I took a B12 shot yesterday and I feel much much better today. I am continuing to take my sublingual as well, but my question is, how often are you taking the shot for the ones of you who have converted to this. Do you take this in the place of the oral B12 or just once a month like most normal people take for anemia? I was just wondering so I could either do one or the other or should I continue to do both. I know this is probably a question for the surgeon, but just wanted a few opinions from you guys on what you do. I can tell you I feel like a new person after getting the shot yesterday. Hi, D'Lynn, I'm giving myself shots once a month, and feel MUCH better. If you have a choice, I'd try for a shot every two weeks. Of course, I am older!!! At ten months, I am just now able to stay up until 10:00 p.m. since surgery. The oral B12 didn't seem to help me personally. Isn't it amazing how quickly the shot takes effect? Hugs, Becky

I have never taken the B-12 shot, for the past year and a half I have taken 500mg every day sublingual...I wish that I could say that It gave me a rush of energy or made me feel better, but I have never been able to tell....All my lab work is coming out okay, so I guess I am doing something right!!! Take Care, Cathy

Hi D'Lynn!! Dont worry about geing too much B-12, if you do you will just pee it out. I do the SL daily and give myself an injection once a week.
