gaining weight
Help I'm 3 years out and I've started to gain wt. back. I had knee surgery in Oct. and had to give up Curves. I've cut way back on carbs and chocolate( I craved chocolate after my surgery). I have a "gazelle" excercise machine and I enjoy gardening. but these 20 pounds are not budging. Any suggestions. Thanks!!

I'm only 9 months out, so I can't speak with any authority, but I know when people post messages like this on the main board, folks always tell them to go back to basics. Some recommend doing a liquid diet for a few days, the protein shakes, etx. Some just say eat like you did when you first had surgery. Hope that helps!

Sherry,
Thanks for your response. I use my gazelle once or twice a day, for about 10 min. at a time. This probably isn't enough. Also I'm not always faithful about exercising. I think I will try going back to a liquid diet for a week (suggested by another responder) and focus on exercising. Since I can only do 10 min at a time right now. Maybe it would work to do 3-10 min. sessions.
Thanks.
Frances
I will be 3 years out in October, and to be quite honest what you are going through is my worst nightmare. Every time the scale goes up a couple of pounds, I think that this is it, I am gonna start gaining and won't be able to stop. I have stayed the same weight for a year and a half, going up and down the same 3-4 lbs..I agree with Kelle, go back to the basics...Protein first, than veggies and salad...Limit those carbs, and go for the sugar free fudgecicles if you need chocolate...I wish you all the luck in the world!!
