IMMA NEWBIE

HI EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! My name is Colleen. I'm a newbie here. I don't think I have posted yet, just read everyone else's posts. I am doing all of my pre-op testing right now. Then I have to wait for tricare to review my case and say yeah or nah. I'm sure they'll say yeah. I am a navy wife (hubby is fixing to get out). We are stationed in Kingsbay, GA. I'm originally from Ladson, SC right outside of Charleston, SC. I'm 26 years old and have 3 wonderful children (most days). I was encouraged to have gastric bypass by a new co-worker. I never knew I even qualified until she came along. I had never even thought of the surgery before she came. I am really glad though, because now i realize the severity of my health. I chose to look further into the surgery and wah lah....i'm now in my preop phases. Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself. I hope to get to know you all better. Colleen

Hi Colleen Imma Newbie! You are going to love us Good luck in your journey. I'm still preop but working toward that goal too! Where is Kingsbay? Have you chosen a surgeon? Someone at the support group is having it done at one of the bases. It's great to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you! Barb

Hi Barb and Kwanza. Nice to meet you both. Thank you for taking the time to say hello to me. I appreciate that. Kingsbay is in southeast GA. We are located 3 miles from the ga/fl line off of 95. Kwanza....I am happy and scared for you. I am fine thinking about the surgery...until i am in deep thought, that is when i get scared. But I know god is watching over me and he will be watching over you too. I will say a prayer for you. I wish you a speedy recovery. Let me know how it went for you. Hi, Colleen, I see you are from my neck of the woods. Just wanted to welcome you and to wish you luck in your journey. This surgery has sure changed my life, oh, about 200 percent LOL. We have support group meetings the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month. The next one is on April 18th. We are having a plastic surgeon (Dr. Diane Bowen) as guest speaker and also a protein tasting that night. Would love to see you come to one of them! Who have you picked for your surgeon??? Hi Betsy. Actually I was at the meeting this past Monday. I'll be there at the next one too. I think I remember seeing who you were. Dr Kent is my doctor. I meet w/ Greg on the 15th then attend the workshop the 16&17th. I can't wait to have the surgery!!!! I am really looking forward to being able to do things w/ out my back always hurting!
