Yaaahooo!!!! I have a DATE!!!!!!!

Thanks to you all!!! Everyone here is so kind and supportive. It means a lot to me! Going to get busy on a list of things I need to do--some housework, some cooking for the freezer (after all, I can't let my kids starve just cuz I can't eat!!), etc, etc, etc..... Big hugs to you all! Michelle

How long from the time submitted to bcbs to get an answer?I am waiting on bcbs. Larry

Hey Larry! My file was at BCBS on March 15th. They told me they usually took no more than 15 business days to make a decision. I called every few days to make sure they hadn't decided they wanted more information from me or my dr's. I reminded them about the 15 day thing when I called on Mon. april 4th--the lady I spoke with said she'd send an email to my caseworker to expedite things. I got a call from my dr. office on April 6 saying she'd gotten approval. Yippeee!! BTW...I'm bcbs ppo, if that makes any difference. If I may offer any advice, it would be to call at least once a week--enough to keep on top of anything that might come up-but not so often as to drive them nuts. (I WANTED to call three times a day--but of course, didn't!) They were super nice to me each time-and so I tried to be as sweet as could be back to them. (more flies with honey, ya know?) Best of luck to you--let everyone know when you hear back from them!!! Michelle

Thanks.The info really released some tension. and then Yaahoo !!!!! I got my surgery date today. May 10.Woooo it seems like a long journey this far. I believe it will be worth it. Again thanks

Congratulations Larry... I know you are on top of the world.... Hopefully my news will come soon. They have all the info and it is in their system so I guess I just have to be patient and wait....I keep praying for a miracle here and trust that I won't have a very long wait.. But I know how it goes..... When you want something so bad it seems like an eternity before it becomes a reality...... I just hope all you folks keep reminding me to stay calm and be patient.... LOL..... Once again congrats on your date.... Not long now till you will be on the losing side..... Patrice
