My surgery is Friday. I am feeling lots of emotions and having a difficult time trying to stay relaxed. I still really want this and will not change my mind but the week is going so slow. I have everything done that I need to and am just waiting on Friday morning. I am most afraid of the pain and told the surgeon at the last visit of my low pain tolerance and he increased the medication from 4 to 10 on the pre-surgery sheet but I still am afraid and fear pain more than anything. One of my friends that I visited had lap and did real well then I visited another friend last Sat that had open and he was having a rough time. The surgeon that I am using I fully trust as well as his staff and he attempts everyone lap and only converts to open if he has to. I guess I am just feeling the jitters. Any advice is appreciated. Tami, Everybody gets scared , so we all know how you feel. I had lap and I was only out of work 10 days. I don't remember much that happened in the hospital, But I had the surgery on Wed. and came on home on Friday and Sunday I started itching because all pain medicines make me itch after taking it for a couple of days. So I didn't take anything at all for pain after Sunday. It was probably 6 months after surgery before I even took a tylenol. Good luck Friday and I'll say a prayer for you. Judy
