Is WLS coverage required in Georgia?

Is insurance coverage for WLS required in Georgia? This question came up somehere else and I am wondering whats up? Thanks bob [email protected]

Bob, There is a bill that was passed several years ago giving insurance the option to cover it, but a recent change to that bill was made and resubmitted to congress requiring insurance companies to cover it. I dont know if it passed or not because the session ended on 3-31-05...I was wondering if anyone else knew if the HB 43 passed or was it tabled or just completely thrown out. Maybe someone else can enlighten us. D'Lynn

I believe that the WLS bill was tabled. Too many politicians stated that they didn't feel that it is their responisbility to force an insurance company to pay for someone who had choosen this path for themselves. For every politician that supported the bill there were three that didn't. I believe that is how it went down. Nicole
