The date is May 27th!--must lose more weight first
I have a surgery date. It is May 27! I am finally beginning to get excited. My family is being very supportive. I have had good news and bad news in the same week. I had an abnormal mammogram on Wed. and need to have a biopsy. I went thru this last summer and everything was ok. Hopefully the Doctor is just being very cautious. I want to take some time to fill out my profile. I am sure it is not hard, but have not had the time to just sit down and do it. I am making arrangements to be off for 2 weeks. Hey all of you out there do you think this will be enough or too much time? I do not have a physically demanding job. I plan on having my biopsy during the second week so that I do not have to take off any time before surgery. I did not realize that I would have to take off for pre op stuff. I guess I just assumed all of the previous testing would be sufficient. My next hurdle is losing 15-20 more pounds. I currently have the mind set of "eat now while you can", why do we do that? I have to have this weight off by my pre op dietitian appointment which is the 19th. This is going to be very hard as we are on spring break this week and are going on a cruise! Pray for me!
Hi, Pam, If you are having the surgery lap, I think two weeks will be fine. You'll probably really need to take it easy during your first week back. I experienced the "eat now while you still can" in a big way. While you are on your cruise, do as much physical stuff as possible and drink a lot of water. You are going to be much better off if you lose that 15-20 pounds before surgery. I wish I had that last ten pounds that I gained before surgery back. It may have been more than ten. I was too chicken to weigh! Have a great trip!!!
Hugs to you,
Becky
Hey Dear.....
Finally you have a date......Question is why is it so far off? Is Dr. Hart booked up till then? Another thing that surgery date is for a Friday..I thought he operated on Tuesday and Wednesday... Goodness I am full of questions.... Just like a teacher....always asking questions....LOL..... By the way I do hope you are having a wonderful time with your son home. I am envious of the cruise..... But I do hope you enjoy yourself and have a wonderful time.......Hurry home so I can get all the details....
Talk soon,
Patrice

I can't believe I posted the wrong date. The surgery is April 27. They offered it one week earlier but because of pre surgical testing the week before I could not do it (will be gone on cruise) I am really concerned about losing the weight. It would be terrible to go thru all this just to have it cancelled. It is so hard. I guess that is how I got in this shape to begin with. My son moved to LA last July. He has been home for 4 days and wants all his old favorites, chocolate cake, chicken and dumplins, etc. I have done so well so far today. Talk to you later
