I'm pretty stoked cuz I haven't taken medicine for 11 days and my blood sugars before were OUT OF WHACK!!! In the hospital, even with 3 days of eating nothing and only drinking clear fluids, my BS was in the 160's. Usually on a good day 160 (with 1000 mg of MetaGlip (metformin/glocophage + glipizide (???)). Anyway, one of the major reasons that I had this surgery is an utter fear of all of the fun and games that come with being diabetic. I hope this stays like this, that would be SWEET.

Hi Derrick, Congratulations .. NO MEDS ... I have read about several people being able to stop diabetic meds with this surgery. I hope this happens for you too. Remember we are all here for you, God Bless Your Journey, Sheila -115#

I am the same way. I have not had any meds since surgery, and my BS's have been well within the normal range.... usually hanging out about 97. The morning of surgery, after having been NPO past midnight except meds, my BS was 322. I was taking 2000mg Glucophage, and 10mg Glucotrol. I am glad to have been able to come of all that as well as my BP meds, and reflux meds as well. Susan

This surgery has been wonderful. Within a month of my surgery my PCP took me off the Glucophage! Since then I have been taken off my BP meds and my CPAP machine! Instead of taking 3 different meds for my cholesterol I take one little pill! Congrats on getting off the meds! It keeps getting better and better. Patti
