OK, OK... I am 1 week post op and am eyeballing the Campbell's Tomato Soup in my cupboard. My head tells me that there would be high sugar in them there cans, but my heart is wondering... So, I guess I am asking if anyone else out there recalls if they were able to eat Tomato Soup early post op? So far, I can handle Cottage Cheese w/ Crushed Pineapple, egg whites, yogurt, strawberry/bananna smoothie, grits (kind of), mashed potatoes... I'm having a real hard time with the no food thing... I do OK MOST of the time, but I have moments where I really REALLY miss food. God, I feel like a junkie wanting some heroin. OK, I'm rambling.

Derrick, I am right there with you, but my Dr said I could have all the condensed 98% fat free soups I wanted as long as they were milk based, Cream of Chicken, Broccoli and Cheese, Cream of Celery, oh yeah, and I have had no problems with Tomatoe soup, I love tomatoe soup. Get the dry power milk and mix 1/3 cup with a cup of water and add it to the soup, that gives you some protein as well. The only thing I have heard about the tomatoe soup is it might burn the pouch because of the acid, but I have not had any problems. I go to the Dr tomorrow and get to advance to stage 3 in my program, which means solid foods.......omg....woohooo....liquids get old after while. Well, I am here if you want to chat, and exchange ideas. By the way, if you like garlic and butter, cut up some potatoes, boil them until they are almost done, drain most of the water off after they are done, add a stick of margarine (light that is) and a garlic to flavor, they are so good when you mash them up, just a little different from the same old mashed potatoes. Talk later, D'Lynn

I had Campbells Tomato soup at around one week post op. It was fabulous. I tried it with milk (instead of water) I also added cheese. Yummy. I found out that it took me 3 or 4 meals to eat one can tho haha.

Thank you all. I had some Tomato Soup last night. It was surprisingly filling for how liquid it is. And to my surprise, no problems (the second ingredient is corn syrup). I won't bathe in it, but it is nice to find some stuff from "BEFORE" that I can have. Now if I could figure out how to have CINNAMON ROLLS!
