Kenneth: Good/Bad news
Well Kenneth has had for the past couple of days he's had very bad diarrhea. They took a stool sample and found out that he has something called C. difficile. Now he's having to take an antibotic. This has been since yesterday that he started taking this. It seems to be better now. He was to a point 2 days ago that he was going over 30 times to the bathroom. Which we knew something was not right and then he get abdominal pain which everyone thought was gas. They have said that Kenneth could probably go home today, but was going to monitor him for a few more hours before they make that dicision. They were concerned that he had not been walking the halls, but because of this awful bathroom situation he can't go far from the room. He's gotten a lot of walking in just to the bathroom. So good news is we will probably go home today, but we will have to watch how this c difficile does at home closely. Will let you know what happens later on.
What C. Difficile is?
C. difficile-associated disease occurs when the normal intestinal flora is altered, allowing C. difficile to flourish in the intestinal tract and produce a toxin that causes a watery diarrhea.
