Howdy, howdy --- Does anyone have experience with BCBS HMO State Merit? My papers were submitted last Thursday and now, of course, I am a nervous wreck that I won't be approved. I know they have 15 working days to answer ---- can someone die from worry in 3 weeks???? Just joking, I know it takes at least 4 weeks to die from worrying!!!! Jean -- in Watkinsville, Georgia

Jean, I'm a Fulton County employee. I used BCBS HMO for my surgery Aug. 9th. I was approved in 2 weeks, but I had 2 years worth of medical/doctor visits, tests, etc. I'm sure that qualified me for an early approval. I'm assuming your contract expires July 1, 05?

Hi Jean, I was approved 1 week after my paper work was submitted. Hang in there and you will get an answer real soon. BCBS HMO gives 3 months to have WLS from the date of approval. Best Wishes, Tammie G. loving WLS

Does anyone know how long Cigna gives to have surgery from the date of approval? I have been waiting 2 weeks & haven't heard anything. the wait is killing me. Has anyone else had to deal with Cigna? If so please tell me it will get better. Tammy Gunter

I am not sure about BCBS under state merit but Cigna has denied me just recently. I am continuing the fight though. They say state merit is not covering in 2005 but my policy does not end until June 30, 2005. They can't change my policy midyear. I am curious to see how many people under state merit get approved this year. If you do get approved please let me know. I am fighting this fight with them Thanks

I was wondering is BCBS still covering this surgery??? I had heard last year that they were going to stop covering it, but I haven't heard anything else about it.
