The great ol' carbonation debate.

I know some Dr's say no carbonation. Mine says it's fine. Some Dr's say you can stretch the pouch with it, mine says it's crap because we burp. Im guessing that since He's done over 2k surgeries and has never had a stretched pouch case, he's correct. (He also says pouch stretching is a myth because it's so elastic, but a stoma can be stretched) Now that being said, if I drink NOTHING but CAFFIENE FREE DIET COKE will it count to my daily water intake? Of course I drink mostly water, but this is being asked because of a discussion I am having with a friend. Thanks'

Good try Kay ...But any soda is not a water source ...I have asked and tried this one many times and come up with the same answer each time ..The only thing that is water is crystal lite and suger free kool aid and things like that ...But any soda or anything carbonated is not considered water .....so just have the caffine and get a high and enjoy it man !!! Now I don't understand that. A liquid is a liquid is a liquid. Seems to me drinking 12 oz of (insert your favorite poison here) is the same as drinking 12 oz of water or Crystal Lite or tea sweetened with Splenda. I know that alcohol is full of calories, so no pony bottles of beer. But just exactly how is a 12 oz can of Diet Coke different than 12 oz of Crystal Lite? Lorri 343/255/150 eventually

I got the same thing that Laura got from my surgeon and dietician. I drink coffee, the flavored sugar free, decaf OK sometime with caffiene! and it sucks not to be able to count it as my 64 oz intake. Oh well. Missed ya on the board. You coming Sat? Lynn
