re: have a few questions
Hello everyone:
Hope all is well with each and everyone of yall. Got home yesterday from the hospital and my dr. Paul Macik put me on thin grits, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, cream soups, jello and drink 4 cups of milk a day. My question is that I have noticed a great deal of stomach churning and I have not been sick (as to throwing up) just bathroom trips after my stomach stops it's upside down turns. I swallowed my vitamin and baby aspirn whole today and was wondering if that is the problem. My neigbor made me some egg custard with skim milk and splenda and I had one this morning and was wondering if that is the problem. I ate cream of wheat also and now I think I will make some soup since I am cold. I am eating a little more than I think I should, more than 2 oz, is that the problem.
Thanks for the information
Mary
Did you have Lap? If so, that is the gas churning. Mine churned for more than a week. It is trapped in your insides and is trying to get out. It takes a while. Also, milk made me a little gassy so I started using Lactaid. It tastes fine and does not give me the gas.
You are not eating too much. You would know!! Either you will hurt in your stomach area, or you will throw up. Same with the pills. If they got stuck, you would throw up or get very very sick.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mary. I am 9 weeks out and Dr. Macik is my surgeon too. My stomach churned a lot too. It still does at times. The bathroom trips are normal I had that problem too for the first few weeks but it does get better. Just remember to eat slowly and not too much at one sitting. I know Dr. Macik says 2-3 oz. I am still pretty much at 2 oz and can't eat much more than that but people are different. I am confused when you say that you swallowed your vitamin and baby aspirin whole today because I know he puts his patients on Flintstone chewable and chewable baby aspirin? Just be careful and follow his orders and if you aren't sure about something call his office, they are so good about answering questions. The first few weeks I must have called every other day! If you have any questions feel free to email me [email protected]. Best of luck!

Mary,
Good to have you home...I'm not sure what"egg custard "is, does it contain real eggs? The reason that I am asking is because when I had my surgery, I was told to not have any eggs for the first week. Then after the week, I could have eggs, but they needed to be cooked for 7 minutes. Now my husband made me a scrambled egg, and let's just say that I did not have another one like that until I was 3 weeks out. At that point, I could eat them any way. I'm not saying that this is your problem or that you really even have one, but I thought that I would add my 2 cents...I hope that you get to feeling better soon, and I also agree with the others about the gas, it really does get worse before it gets better, hang in there!
Cathy
Mary,
So sorry to hear you are feeling a little bad, hope all the churning stops and it passes real soon. About the gas, you may try lactaid and also take gas x. But I don't understand about the baby aspirin. What is this for? The reason I'm asking is that my understanding is that we never take aspirin or anything with aspirin in it (pepto bismal...etc) because it might cause ulcers in our pouch. What am I lacking in my information? Can we just not take aspirin but baby aspirin is ok?
Love,
Joyce
