Test Results :-(
I had an Adenisine Thallium Stress Test on my heart on friday, which, by the way was the worse thing I'd ever been through. I recieved the results today. I knew something was up when the doctor himself called instead of the nurse.
I've had to put my surgery on hold because my test results were not normal. I asked him about a false positive as many of you have mentioned and he said that is not the case with me.
When my heart is at rest I have normal blood flow, but when they put my heart into stress I had no blood flow to the bottom of my heart.
I have been saying that if I hit a road block it would be a sign that I was not meant to have this surgery. I am so terribly bummed out.
I wonder if I'll be araound to see my 4 year old grow up. That is my biggest issue.
Please, if any one reads this, remember me in your prayers. I'm waiting for them to schedule an appt with a cardiologist.
Thanks for all your support, Barb
Hey Barb
YOu will be in my prayers, but you really need to have your heart fixed first before you worry about your weight. If your heart gives out, you wont have to worry about your weight. I am sure after it is taken care of and fixed, you can have the WLS to help keep it healthy. You will see your son grow up.

Hi Barb,
Don't get to bummed yet. Road blocks are put in front of us to make us take notice of something important. While it is kind of nerve racking, it is good to find things out ahead of time instead of after it is too late. Maybe this surgery, and all of it's pre-op testing are your higher powers way of telling you that you needed to have this investigated, and fixed if necessary. WLS can be a bumpy road, but bumps in the road are better than no road at all.
Good Luck with the cardiologist, and if you need to talk, e-mail me for my phone number. Hollar if you need to.

Barb, You know I love you, Sweet Sister! I truly believe that the Lord IS going to get you healthy, and that you will be around to watch your little one grow up. If He wants you to have the surgery, you will. Remember, His time table is much better than (and different from) ours! I am very thankful that you are not going into the operation right now with heart problems. Please keep us posted! You are in my prayers!

Barb,
You are now and will continue to be in my prayers. I must admit that I don't know anything really about the test you took, I remember before my surgery they said that my heart was enlarged due to the extra weight, but I guess this is not the same thing. I too, am the mother of a 4 year old, so I know how deeply you feel about the future. Please let me know when you go to see the Cardiologist, and I hope and pray that everything will be okay.
Cathy
Barb, I'm so sorry about the delay for you, but like others have said, so much better to find out NOW rather than later. And when you see a cardiologist, you'll know much better what you are facing. You will definitely be in my prayers. Hang in there, girl. You'll make it... and I too believe you will be around to see your little one grow up. This process is about getting healthy, and it just takes a few more steps for some of us. But you'll still get there.
Blessings to you,
Cheryl
Hi Barb!
Think of how terrible it would have been to go into surgery and NOT know about this problem! Don't think of it as a sign that it wasn't meant to be...think of it as devine intervention on your part by a loving God who didn't think it was your time to leave!! It's a blessing you've been given. Now--sometimes blessings are in packages we didn't expect them in. You may have some more testing to do (I had to have a heart cath...read my profile for more info)....but once it's done and you're healthy again, you can move forward with confidence.
I read something on this board once that helped me--it said "Don't be afraid your life will end, be afraid it will never begin." Don't be afraid to fight for your beginning, Barb.
I'll be praying for you--PLEASE keep me updated on how things go. I've been at the same "Scared out of my mind" place that you are. I made it thru--and so can you!!
Sending you big, big hugs!!
Michelle
ps...if you'd like to call and hear about my heart cath (if you're sent for one) , post me your email adress and I'll send you my phone number!
Barb, I have not heard of that exact test, but I have an irregulart heart beat, they made me go to the cardiologist too, It is much better for them to be overly cautions than to ignore something they have known about. They are doing this to be sure you do have the best outcome possible to be able to raise your 4 yr old. I have 6,4,2, year olds and I know exactly where you are coming from. It is much bettter to know this now and to get it taken care of than to risk it.
God Bless and remember HE has your best interest at HEART!!!l
