Household scales?

Hey guys, I have a question...if you have a pair of scales that is rated for 300lbs, but you know you still weigh more than that, can you rely on what they read if they go past 300 pounds and back around to another number? Specifically, I got on my roommates scale on Sunday and it went past 300 to 35 pounds. Now I think I am about 335 now, but not sure if it's reliable since it's only numbered up to 300. Any thoughts on this? I'd love to have a scale at home I could use for encouragement to exercise, etc. If the scale is correct, I've lost 153 pounds in 8 months, and I would love to know that for sure without having to go to the doctor's office to weigh in. Thanks! Kelle

Hey Kelle, My scales only went to 300 and I was counting just like you mentioned. It appears to be accurate, cuz the amount I calculated I've lost matches what my doc's scales say... So I'm guessing you should right on the money! CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Also...you've got mail!)

We have a scale that goes to 400 pounds. It seems to be very accurate with the doctor's scales. You can get them at www.amplestuff.com or find out what brand they sale and get it somewhere else cheaper. It is one of the big ones with the large dial. Kind of hard to describe, but we are happy with it.

Thanks guys! I really would like a set of digital scales, but until I can swing it, it's good to know that other folks have used the same method I am! Kelle
